There's arguably no full-size pickup truck that's more well-rounded than the Ram 1500 for East Hartford drivers. It combines stellar tow rating, a comfortable ride, and a nicely equipped cabin to spread everything out in six trim levels, which are the following:

  • 1. Tradesman
  • 2. Big Horn
  • 3. Laramie
  • 4. Rebel
  • 5. Laramie Longhorn
  • 6. Limited

Each Ram 1500 is available in two four-door cabs (i.e., the Quad Cab and the larger Crew Cab) and with two bed-size options (i.e., 5-foot 7-inch bed or a longer, 6-feet 4-inch bed). At the base Tradesman level, the pickup presents a pair of vinyl-trimmed seats, as well as the user-friendly, Uconnect infotainment system, which combines six speakers, two USB ports and an audio jack for connecting mobile devices, and a 5-inch touchscreen. Also included in the cabin is a 3.5-inch TFT screen for displaying vehicle information and a third USB port for charging mobile devices. Remote keyless entry enables you to enter the truck with just pressing the key fob, and it is combined with engine immobilization to create an anti-theft system.

Powering the Tradesman is a 3.6-liter Pentastar flex fuel-capable V6 engine, which outputs 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque and is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. You can choose between a rear-wheel drivetrain for improving fuel efficiency and towing capability (at up to 12,750 lbs.) or a four-wheel-drive system for improving all-weather driving and traction performance.

Six airbags are present to provide restraint and cushioning in the event of a crash. An anti-lock braking system with rain brake support, brake assist, and ready-alert braking provide top-notch stopping power and efficiency. Electronic vehicle stability control, roll mitigation, and traction control keep you planted on your path of travel. Hill-start assist ensure safe driving up a slope when shifting from park to drive. Low-beam daytime running lamps keep others aware of your presence when on the roads of New Britain, CT.

Big Horn

A few upgrades appear at the Big Horn level. They include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, fog lights for low-visibility situations, fold-flat ability on the rear seats for expanding cargo room, and steering-wheel-mounted audio controls for greater operational convenience for Hartford and Manchester, CT drivers.

For a significant upgrade over the Tradesman, you can skip the Big Horn to go with the Laramie instead. This is where you get leather seats, with the front seats gaining power adjustability, cooling, and heating. In addition, the driver's seat has a memory system, and there's an available heated steering wheel.

The climate control system at this trim level has individualized controls at the front passenger side in addition to that of the driver for setting heating and cooling preferences. Entertainment is upgraded with nine speakers, an AM/FM radio tuner, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen.

The Rebel is the off-road-optimized Ram 1500 trim. As a result, it is the only model with a factory lift, locking differential, tow hooks, a performance suspension system, and hill descent control, thereby priming it for the most treacherous driving conditions and environments. In addition, the Rebel is the only trim with vinyl-and-cloth seats, and it is at this level where the 3.5-inch monochromatic TFT vehicle information center is swapped with a 7-inch color one.

Laramie Longhorn

This trim level has the standard features of the Laramie, albeit with several additional upgrades. These include second-row heating, HD Radio, a single-disc CD player, and a trial subscription to SiriusXM Traffic Plus.

As the top-level trim, only the Limited gets features such as a navigation system, the RamCharger wireless charging pad, trial SiriusXM 360L satellite-radio service, and a 12-inch touchscreen.
